Submission Processes

Submit an Abstract!

Abstract Submission:
All information on the abstract submittal form must be filled out. Failure to do so can result in the rejection of your abstract. You must also click the submit button at the end of the form or the abstract will not be entered into our database. After a successful submission, you should receive a confirmation email within one business day.

To become a speaker, you must submit an abstract to be reviewed by other software developers, engineers, and professionals.

Complete submission includes:

  • Completion of the online abstract submittal form
  • 100-word biography (sample of biography)
  • 150-word abstract and a bulleted list of up to five main objectives of presentation (sample of abstract and objectives)
  • Selection of abstract type: regular 45-minute presentation, tutorial consisting of four 45-minute timeslots, or panel discussion consisting of two 45-minute timeslots.
  • Any additional information, if applicable.
  • Completion of the online Speaker Release and Consent form - provided as part of the online abstract submittal form

Abstracts should emphasize processes, methods, tools, technologies, and benefits to conference attendees and NOT the marketing of specific companies, products, books, or services. Technologies that have been used in the operational field are preferred.

Submit a Paper!

Paper Submission:
If submitting a paper, do not also submit it as an abstract! These papers will be considered for presentation in a plenary session as well as considered for regular presentation tracks. The papers will be judged by experts in the field of Systems and Software Technology and will be scored on how applicable the presentation is to the theme of this year's conference, 'Technology: Changing the Game'.

Papers should:

  • Not exceed 20 pages including abstract. Modern Language Associations (MLA) style preferred.
  • Be submitted in PDF format
  • Demonstrate advances in technology applicable to systems and software
  • Be submitted within the conference topics
  • Be previously unpublished, original works
  • Be understandable without referencing the bibliography

If selected, presentations at SSTC must be based on paper submitted, however presentation graphics (PowerPoint slides) used during paper presentation need not be submitted until conference proceeding deadlines; therefore, slides for presentation do not count in the paper page limit listed above.

Submit a Sponsor Track!

Sponsored Tracks
A sponsored track is a series of 45-minute presentations, formed into a track and running concurrent with the conference tracks, and is submitted by a company or an organization. The company or organization will furnish a 150-word abstract on the proposed track, which will include a point of contact (POC), the track title, the proposed speakers and their organizations, the number of 45-minute slots requested, and the topic which the track fits into. The abstract will be reviewed and scored by the selection committee and acceptance notification will be sent to the POC.

Questions should be directed to Lynne Wade, 801-777-9828, or lynne.wade@hill.af.mil
