The Fire Plan Sketch Manager (FPSM) for the Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC)

Wednesday
Presentation

This presentation addresses the ground combat arms commander’s need to efficiently plan and integrate defensive fires from the fire team/combat vehicle to the battalion level. It describes the requirements, design and implementation of the Fire Plan Sketch Manager (FPSM), a software tool that manages a U.S. Marine Corps Fire Plan Sketch. The current manual process of creating, managing and disseminating these sketches wastes time and effort and inhibits the use of needed information on the battlefield. The FPSM will automate the Fire Plan Sketch process and increase the effectiveness of a combat unit. The FPSM prototype is designed to operate on the Mounted Digital Automated Communications Terminal (M-DACT) as an injector for the Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC). Future migration of the system to operate with Command and Control for Windows CE (C2CE) on the Dismounted Digital Automated Communications Terminal (D-DACT) is discussed.
