| The nature of systems engineering has changed in the last quarter century because of the ubiquity of software in systems. Nearly all systems are software-intensive these days, in the development process if not in the product. Systems engineering deals with the value-added of the various parts of the system working together as a whole, helping to ensure that the system will work together as designed and meet the true needs of the customer and user. Software developers need to become familiar with lessons learned and engineering hardware systems, making changes as appropriate for software. This presentation discusses those changes. | |
