GCSS-AF: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Thursday
Presentation

The Global Combat Support System - Air Force (GCSS-AF) vision is to provide seamless, user-friendly access to quality information with lower maintenance and support cost through the elimination of redundant systems across multiple functional areas. As stated by Mr. John Gilligan, the Air Force's Chief Information Officer (CIO), "This vision is now becoming reality through the implementation of a number of initiatives, including consolidation of our servers and networks as well as fielding a common set of enterprise services through the GCSS-AF program." This presentation summarizes the milestones achieved by the GCSS-AF Program and describes the architecture framework and the current services that it provides. This presentation will also serve to orientate potential users who may be interested in migrating content or applications to the Air Force Portal and the GCSS-AF Integration Framework (IF).
