Agile Meets the Unified Process

   As part of a technology demo, the RCI team has adapted the Unified Process to work with agile methods. Using an Integrated Product Team approach, the team is incrementally developing a toolset to demonstrate protection technology against tampering employing requirments which have been formulated using customer scenarios, use cases and user stories in an incremental manner. The process employed is low ceremony and delivers incrementally. Distance is managed via a collaborative portal and frequent meetings. Many of the practice thought important by both communities have been tailored to be compatible. The presentation will focus on the team experiences and will highlight the methodology that resulted as a product of trial and error. Lessons learned will be summarized along with recommendations for others exploring similar ventures.
